We at DiscoverWare recognize that our customers are concerned about the manner in which we collect personal information when you visit our Web sites, and how we safeguard and use this information. We are committed to collecting only the information that you want us to have, and using this information only in the manner permitted by you and with your consent.

 

What information we collect

 

1. Personally identifiable information:

We only collect personally identifiable information about you that you agree to provide. Personally identifiable information is any information that can identify you as a specific individual, such as your name, address, phone or fax number or email address.

 

We collect personally identifiable information when you:

•  purchase a product or sign up for a service

•  download a free product

•  purchase a product that we resell for one of our partners

•  enter a contest or other promotion

•  sign up for a newsletter or a demo CD.

 

In addition, when you purchase a product or service we collect your credit card information in order to process the purchase

 

2. Other information:

Cookies: A cookie is a small piece of code that a Web site transfers to an individual's hard drive. A cookie contains a unique identifier that allows us to better understand your usage of our Web sites and allows you to move about the site without having to re-enter registration information that you have already provided. Cookies are not linked to any personally identifiable information. If you simply want to browse, you do not have to accept cookies from any of our sites.

Advertisers that serve ads on our Web sites may assign different cookies to you, and may track your usage of these ads. These advertisers are not covered by our privacy policy and you should check the advertiser's privacy policy for their information collection and use practices.

 

Computer information: We collect certain technical information from your computer each time you request a page during a visit to our Web sites. This information is provided by your computer's Web browser and may include your IP address, operating system, Web browser software, screen resolution and referrer Web site. This information, which is stored in log files, is not linked to personally identifiable information gathered elsewhere on our sites.

•  Personally identifiable information:

When you download or purchase a product or service we use the information you provide to complete the download or purchase, and to bill your credit card. If you choose to receive communications from us about promotions and products, we use your email address to send you email communications and your address information to send you direct mail. If you sign-up for a contest or other promotion, we use your information to enter your name as a contest participant. We use your phone or fax number, or your email address or mailing address, when we respond to your questions, contact you for feedback or to give you information on our products or services, or contact you about billing, customer support or other administrative matters. We may use your demographic information for targeted promotion and advertising.

Cookies: We use cookies to recognize when a visitor has already been to our site in order to adapt or modify the content presented.

 

•  Computer Information

We use computer information to analyze trends, track visitors' movements and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.

 

What choices you have about how your personally identifiable information is used.

Each email or other communication that we send to you includes instructions on how to unsubscribe from receiving further communications. You may also withdraw your consent to use your personal information at any time (subject to legal or contractual requirements); however, we will then be unable to offer you certain services such as product support.

Legal Process:

Changes to our privacy policy:

If we change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Web sites. If we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users via email. Users will be able to opt out of any new use of their personal information.

 

What to do if you have a complaint about our privacy practices

If you believe that we have dealt with your personally identifiable information improperly, you may file a complaint by contacting us directly. We will investigate your complaint, notify you of the outcome and inform you of any relevant steps taken.
